Fish2Fork at Portugal Smart Cities Summit 2021

The Fish2Fork project was represented at the 2021 edition of the Portugal Smart Cities Summit. The three PhD students in this project presented their research work showing how technological approaches, such as the Internet of Things (IoT), Blockchain (Bck), or Data Science, can be applied to the fishing sector. Computer Vision and neural network for Aquaculture

As part of a visit to Peniche, on 4th of January 2022, with the goal of identifing research opportunities, a meeting was held with the MARE (Ana Pombo) and SEAentia (João Rito). On the left Ana Pombo, MARE researcher, in the center there are two INOV researchers, on the right professor João Carlos Ferreira, technical responsible for the Fish2Fork project, funded by EEA Grants and promoted by INOV in partnership with the University of Molde, Norway Fish tanks in the MARE lab The Fish2Fork project was presented and, resulting from the activity of fish feeding and production strategies, a research opportunity was identified for one of the ongoing PhDs, namely Computer Vision and neural network for Aquaculture. MARE Lab Facilities Aquaculture relies heavily on data about fish appetite to guide feeding and production strategies.
